Data: Mr. Webb's career
has been mainly in the fields of Corporate Management, Structural,
Maritime and Offshore engineering where he has been concerned with
organisation, design and construction of major port works and offshore
steel structures. His recent experience has included developing
close relations with senior governmental and industrial clients
throughout South East Asia and winning work for a company newly
established in the area. He has been forward in the introduction
of computational mechanics into the solving of coastal and offshore
engineering problems, having several publications on these matters,
and been concerned with the development of techniques for full scale
offshore structural measurements including the application of vibration
monitoring. He was responsible for the technical development of
BP's deep-water production system, the Tethered Buoyant Platform,
to the level of outline design. Over several years he has been
involved in negotiations with British and Norwegian governments
on offshore structural design and inspection regulations; being
one time chairman of the UKOOA Structural Working Group. He has
been a personally invited representative on two Department of Energy
Guidance Notes drafting committees, was Chairman of the Oil Industries
North West Approaches group. and is a member of the Society for
Underwater Technology Publications Committee and Past Chairman of
the Group on Environmental Forces. Mr Webb was appointed a Director
of the Royal Navy Submarine Museum at Gosport in 1997 to assist
in major redevelopment for the centenary of the submarine
service. |
